Leif Huron is a filmmaker, creative producer, and educator with a diverse background in photography, motion, and CGI. He produces a wide range of advertising, editorial, and documentary content. His niche is interpreting the native beauty in objects of contemporary art and design with a compelling mixture of levity, integrity, and care. This unique approach allows him to bring a fresh perspective to his projects, capturing the essence of his subjects in a way that is both informative and engaging.   

Huron’s clients include prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Brooklyn Museum, as well as brands like Hearst Made, MMoCA, Grammarly, Domino, Vimeo, Red Bull, Compass, Etsy, and ABC Carpet & Home. His films have been officially selected for screening at renowned film festivals, including the Tribeca Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).   

Notable Works

Huron’s documentary work includes films like “COYDOGS” and “Men Among Men.” “COYDOGS” explores the lives of three companions on an archipelago in the North Country, examining the shifting dynamics between them as they navigate the line between wild and domestic spaces. “Men Among Men” is a short comedy set in gold rush California, where a group of prospectors grapples with masculinity and what it means to be a good man. These films showcase Huron’s ability to tell compelling stories through a unique visual lens.   

Teaching and Creative Practice

In addition to his work as a filmmaker and visual artist, Huron is an adjunct faculty member at LIM College, where he teaches Digital Photography and Imaging I & II. His experience as an educator informs his creative practice, allowing him to approach his work with a deep understanding of visual communication and a passion for sharing his knowledge with others.   

Huron holds an MFA from Parsons School of Design and a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology. This academic background, combined with his extensive experience in the field, has given him a strong foundation in both the technical and conceptual aspects of visual storytelling.
